The Presets here with all of their people: 23.05.09 – The DECK, Derwent Entertainment Centre.

Even a chilly Hobart night couldn’t cool the excitement shared by a cross-generational mix of people to the Deck.

They were all there keen, eager and as it turned out – quite happy to line up outside the Deck for 45mins, just to catch a glimpse of one of most prominent acts of 2008/09. Hopefully just a bad day at the office for the Deck in organisational issues, as some of us waited patiently, others in their own kooky ways.

When we finally got into the gig, with only the last 10mins of Architecture in Helsinki’s set. I was a gutted to have missed them, but they had definitely got the crowd pumping with ease and charisma, ready for The Presets. Note – definitely on the list to witness entire set ASAP!

As the familiar darkness fell, with the short silence in anticipation and then the hysteric cheering beginning, the Guys came on and did not disappoint.

Dressed to impress and with a set as tight as their skinny jeans, it didn’t matter where you were sitted, standing or grooving, you couldn’t help but feel the electricity connecting Entertainer and Crowd.

I didn’t know what to expect and not my usual gig genre, but I and the sea of fans hung on every lyric, beat and strobe light with effortless-ness.

Alas, time went too quick.. and knowing all good things must come to an end, the boys finished strong transporting us all into somewhere that felt like the depths of a hot beat filled Ibiza night, so far from the foggy dewy walk home that awaited us.

The Presets implanted in us all the inability to escape humming happily home in the cold sharing a good night with all their people.
